Moegi 萌黄

Moegi, is a vivid yellow-green color. As the leaves that have just sprouted. The green is still not very dark, but it is a color that gives you a feeling of humid freshness and softness, just like green onions.

The word “moegi” was coined in the Heian period. It was used as the color of the young warrior's armor in "The Tale of the Heike". There when Taira no Atsumori goes off to battle, there is a line that says: "Put on Moegi Niouho's armor", which gives a sense of the dynamism.

As a color that wishes for the growth of children, it is often used even today for celebration clothes for Shichi-Go-San festival.
